Damase is a 14.5 hectare Castle located in the communes of Savignac de l'Isle and Galgon, near Fronsac and 5 km from Pomerol. It benefits from a southern exposure. This area was the pioneer of the reintroduction of the "lost" grape of Bordeaux, the grape variety Carménère. It represents 10% of the Castle’s parcelled surface but it is extremely difficult to grow and therefore has a varied yield depending on the conditions at the time of flowering. This remarkable grape distinguishes Château Damase from the Bordeaux standard by bringing spicy and herbaceous freshness to the wine.
