Château du Coureau, AOP Côtes de Bordeaux, Red, 2016
Château du Coureau produces about 60,000 bottles of its red wine in Côtes de Bordeaux. It is made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec.
The Château du Coureau is located in the Entre-deux-Mers, one of the wine regions of Bordeaux, in the commune of Haux on the outskirts of Créon. The estate is composed of 11 hectares of red Graves, 6ha of white Graves, 20ha of red Côtes de Bordeaux and 1ha of Cérons. The vines are grown on clay-gravel soil.
In the vineyard
24 hectares of the estate are dedicated to this cuvée in Côtes de Bordeaux.
Traditional vinification of Bordeaux wines, without the use of pectolytic enzymes for extraction and colouring. The temperature is maintained at around 28°C during the process, bi-daily removals, offloading and a vatting time of about 4 weeks. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out in stainless steel tanks and/or cement.
This wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels before being placed in a concrete tank during the last 6 months.

On the palate
On the palate, this wine is round and fruity, with notes of prune, red fruits enhanced with sweet spices such as vanilla. At the end of the mouth we discover subtle aromas of chocolate with sweet tannins.>
